Truckersworld is 100% in favour of further training and improving the standards of driving to improve road safety.

This protest is against the way this has been introduced and of no benefit in improving standards.

I the undersigned wish to add my protest at the introduction of the “Periodic” CPC. As a Professional Driver it is my responsibility to always drive to the best of standards with Road Safety as of paramount importance and the WTD Regulations adhered to. My Certificate of Competence is to continually improve and learn every Day, Week, Month, and Year, learning from experience and help and advice from better qualified personnel. The New CPC is an insult to my professionalism and another burden of expense in carrying out my duties.

If as a Professional Driver I am forced to carry out further training by the possibility of less qualified personnel, then I can see no alternative but to "consider" looking  for other employment and hang my keys up in protest, leaving the profession and the UK with a shortage of highly qualified Drivers.

I will offer my support to Truckersworld and if possible carry out any protest necessary to ensure that the CPC is reconsidered and not introduced as another burden to an already over regulated profession.

This Protest is not against the "Initial" CPC

Training and knowledge is always beneficial to all drivers and Truckersworld has no objection to this. The protest is against the way it is being introduced at extra cost to the Industry without proper consultation and the best method possible.
